A legendary Spanish red wine from Priorat, Clos de l’Obac is produced by Costers del Siurana. The winery is owned by Mr. Carles Pastrana, one of the original 'Priorat pioneers' who, back in the 1980s, put the region on the world map of fine wine.
A blend of old-vines Grenache and Carignan, with lesser amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot. The grapes were sorted from vines planted along the margins of the Siurana river in deeply mineral llicorella (slate) soils.
Once in the cellar, the grapes were destemmed and macerated for 29 days in stainless steel tanks. Then the wine must was transferred into new French oak barrels, where it was fermented and aged for 11 months. Before being bottled, Clos de l'Obac 2006 was naturally stabilized by the cold of winter, and clarified with egg whites.
One of Priorat's most prestigious names, this Crianza red wine should be decanted for at least 40 minutes before you drink it.

The wine Clos de l’Obac has an intense cherry colour with a violet rim.
This blend of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Syrah and Merlot is intense, ever-evolving and deep. Loads of blackberries and blackcurrants, with notes of licorice, spices, bitter chocolate, and underbrush. Deep mineral background, with an earthy and metallic note.
This wine of Costers del Siurana has a unique personality. Delicately warm, with a bitter note and a mineral core. Fruit is exquisitely ripe, perfectly balanced with some spicy and balsamic notes. Complex, never-ending finish.
