Produced by Clos Dominic, Clos Dominic Vinyes Baixes is made from estate-owned vineyards, all of them planted in decomposed slate, llicorella soils in Finca La Tena, a scenic natural amphitheatre close to the town of Porrera.
Harvested by hand and traditionally vinified, this red wine from Priorat was aged for 16 months in French oak barrels.
Prior to its bottling, the wine was delicately filtered, and then aged for a further months in the cellar before its release.
We suggest that you decant Clos Dominic Vinyes Baixes 2017 for at least 1 hour, so the wine can begin to unfold.

Nose | This crianza red wine from Priorat is quite impressive on the nose. Enticing aromas of wild berries, gently wrapped by notions of toast, Jamaican pepper, vanilla, balsam, menthol and aniseed. Later, we perceive notes of tobacco, toffee and, all along the way, some deep mineral undertones. |
Palate | Smoother than one might think, Vinyes Baixes by Clos Dominic also has a very solid skeleton and ripe, yummy tannins. Fruit is of great quality, and the notions of spices, balsam and underbush add complexity to the wine. Great acidity and long, mineral finish. |
Our personal opinion | A sensational, reasonably priced Priorat, Clos Dominic Vinyes Baixes 2017 delivers immense pleasure. |
