Product Description
Details

This is the new vintage of Clos Mont-blanc Únic Pinot Noir, a single varietal Spanish red wine produced in a privileged terroir located in the southern Catalan region of Conca de Barberà.

The estate vineyards of the Clos Mont-Blanc winery are not far from the Cistercian monastery of Poblet, where the Medieval Monks already grew grapes almost a thousand years ago.

The Pinot Noir vines are grown in limestone soils, a fact that gives this wine from Conca de Barberà a very interesting character.

Harvested by hand and subsequently destemmed, fermentation of this red wine from Conca de Barberà took place in stainless steel tanks.

After that, Clos Mont-blanc Únic Pinot Noir 2017 was drawn off, transferred into light-toasted French oak barrels, and aged for a period of 9 to 12 months.

This is an attractive and uncommon Pinot Noir.

Appearance

The red wine Clos Mont-Blanc Únic Pinot Noir has a clean, bright, intense cherry colour with some reddish tinges.

Nose

Expressive notes of black fruit, red fruit, spices, aromatic herbs and some mineral undertones. This red wine from Conca de Barberà is very well balanced.

Palate

Silky and fresh, with the trademark Pinot Noir elegance. First we perceive some mineral hints, immediately followed by generous notes of fruit, sweet spices and some toasted remembrances. This red wine of Clos Mont-Blanc has a good acidity, sweet tannins and long, complex finish.

Our personal opinion

A classy Mediterranean expression of a legendary red variety. That is Clos Mont-Blanc Únic Pinot Noir 2017.
