Produced by Celler Xavier Clua, this Spanish red wine from DO Terra Alta is quite interesting.
A blend of Grenache and Hairy Grenache, Clua Il·lusió Negre is made from vineyards located in Vilalba dels Arcs, province of Tarragona.
Picked by hand and meticulously selected, the grapes were macerated and fermented in 5,000 litre French oak vats.
After that, Clua Il·lusió Negre 2021 was aged for 9 months before bottling.
Aerate this Crianza red wine 30 minutes before drinking.

| Nose | Aging in huge oak vats instead of traditional oak barrels has certainly benefited this blend of Grenache and Hairy Grenache. All sorts of red fruit (raspberries, cherries, redcurrants...), with remembrances of flowers and aromatic herbs, and a brushtroke of Eastern spices over a mineral background. |
| Palate | Again, this wine of Celler Xavier Clua is round, pleasant and lifted. Cherry fruit, wild flowers and undergrowth, with slim tannins and excellent acidity. Long, gently mineral finish. |
