The new vintage of Condado de Haza from Ribera del Duero proves again its remarkable consistency over the years.
A brand of Grupo Pesquera, owned by Alejandro Fernández, the Condado de Haza winery has more than 200 hectares of Tempranillo, the sole component of this wine, around the province of Burgos. Planted at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level, the vines are around 25 years of age.
After the harvest the grapes of this Spanish red wine were fully destemmed and macerated with the skins for some weeks. After the completion of alcoholic fermentation, they were aged for 18 months in American oak barrels.
Prior to its commercial release, Condado de Haza Crianza 2017 was aged for a further 6 months in the bottle.

The red wine Condado de Haza has a bright, clean cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.
Fresh, intense notes of red and black fruit, dim toasted nuances, some herbal and lactic suggestions and aromas of cinnamon, clove and sandalwood. Despite its long ageing period, this Crianza red wine from Ribera del Duero is remarkably fresh.
Bold and expansive, though lighter and fresher than previous vintages. This varietal Tempranillo by Alejandro Fernández is full of juicy red fruit, alongside cocoa, underbush, strawberry yoghurt and Eastern spices. Condado de Haza has a crisp acidity, savoury tannins-still a bit rugged-and a long finish with a toasted aftertaste.
