Belonging to the DO Cariñena, this Spanish red wine is produced from vineyards planted in rocky soils in Sierra de Algairén, an area between 500 and 700 metres above sea level which is constantly swept by the Cierzo, a dry, cold northeastern wind.
Produced by Grandes Vinos y Viñedos, the grapes were traditionally vinified in stainless steel tanks.
Then the wine was aged in 70% French and 30% American oak barrels for 14 months.
Finally, Corona de Aragón Reserva 2014 was bottled.
Aerate 20 minutes before drinking.
The wine Corona de Aragón Reserva has an intense cherry colour with a garnet rim.
Suggestive aromas, typical of a blend of Tempranillo, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan. Red fruit, aromatic herbs, balsam, flowers and some creamy and toasted nuances.
Smooth-textured and savoury. This reserva of Grandes Vinos y Viñedos conveys some lively notes of red fruit, dim toasted nuances and some mineral suggestions. Good acidity and ripe tannins. Long finish.
