Produced by Celler de Capçanes, Costers del Gravet is a Spanish red wine from Montsant.
The vines are 15 to 60 years of age. They are planted in terraces composed of slate and limestone soils and located at altitudes between 300 and 500 metres.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were separately fermented according to the variety. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation started in the tanks and was finished in new and 2nd year French oak barrels. Then this Crianza red wine from Montsant was aged in the barrels for 12 months.
Finally, Costers del Gravet 2015 was aged for a further 3 months in vats to round it and enhance its balance.
Drink this wine from Montsant until 2021. Production of 19,000 bottles.

The red wine Costers del Gravet has a nice cherry colour with some garnet tinges.
This interesting red wine by Celler de Capçanes suggests complex notes of red fruit, combined with aromas of balsam, spices, toast and aromatic herbs over a mineral background.
Bold and intense, this red wine from Montsant has a solid mineral skeleton that sustains juicy notes of red fruit, garrigue and spices. Smooth tannins, crisp acidity and long, balsamic finish.

A truly excellent value from Montsant, Costers del Gravet 2015 pairs excellently with meat dishes and casseroles, but also drinks wonderfully without food.
