Product Description
Details

Produced from centenary, extremely low-yielding Grenache vines grown in several plots with red-slate soils located near the Moncayo mountains, Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria is a Spanish red wine made by the Bodegas Aragonesas winery in the northern Spanish region of Campo de Borja.

Harvested by hand in Autumn, the grapes were meticulously selected and vinified.

First this varietal Grenache from Campo de Borja was fermented at a controlled temperature and macerated for a period of 10 days.

Finally, Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria 2018 was aged for 4 months in French oak barrels prior to its bottling.

Appearance

The red wine Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria has a clean, high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.

Nose

This interesting red wine from Campo de Borja shows some intense varietal notes of red fruit, along with balsamic notions, some touches of Jamaica pepper, liquorice, underbush and some mineral remembrances.

Palate

Bold, palate-coating and velvety, displaying flavours of red fruit underpinned by balsamic notes and mineral notions. This Grenache wine made from centenary vineyards has a good acidity, some crunchy tannins and long, spicy-mineral finish.

Certainly a robust wine, but an honest one too. Very good with Lockhart BBQ-you know, babe, the Barbecue capital of the Lone Star State.- Review by Lone ranger (Posted on 19/02/2019)

I read that this was considered "best value wine in the world", or something like that. Well, for that price you cannot possibly ask for anything more. It also makes one think about wine pricing. Review by Charles (Posted on 18/08/2017)
