Product Description
Details

Produced from centenary, low-yielding Grenache vines grown in several plots with red-slate soils located near the Moncayo mountains, Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria is a Spanish red wine made by Bodegas Aragonesas in the northern Spanish region of Campo de Borja.

Harvested by hand in the first week of October, the grapes were meticulously selected on site.

Once in the cellar, this varietal Grenache from Campo de Borja was refrigerated for 24 hours, fermented at a controlled temperature, and macerated for a period of 10 days.

After that, Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria 2019 was aged for 4 months in French oak barrels.

Pair with stews, cold cuts and roasts.

Appearance

The red wine Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria has a clean, high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.

Nose

This varietal old-vines Grenache shows some intense varietal notes of cranberries and raspberries, along with remembrances of licorice, Jamaica pepper,  underbrush and some mineral hints.

Palate

Bold, palate-coating and velvety, displaying flavours of ripe red fruit, and some intimations of forest-floor and spices over a deep mineral background. This wine from Bodegas Aragonesas has a good acidity, some crunchy tannins and long, spicy-mineral finish.

Our personal opinion

A well-crafted and excellently priced wine, Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria 2019 will delight each and every lover of Spanish reds.

Value
Certainly a robust wine, but an honest one too. Very good with Lockhart BBQ-you know, babe, the Barbecue capital of the Lone Star State.-

Best value
Value
I read that this was considered "best value wine in the world", or something like that. Well, for that price you cannot possibly ask for anything more. It also makes one think about wine pricing.
