Product Description
Details

The Spanish winemaker Gabriel Martínez Valero, head of Crápula Wines, makes Crápula Gold 5 Meses from an equal blend of Monastrell and Syrah.

The vines grow in limestone soils with low levels of organic matter, at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level. Climate is Mediterranean-continental.

Belonging to DO Jumilla, this Spanish red wine was vinified in stainless steel tanks at a temperature below 28ºC. Destemmed and gently crushed, the grapes were macerated for over a period of 10 days.

Afterwards, Crápula Gold 5 Meses 2020 was aged for 5 months in French and American oak barrels.

Finally, this red wine from Jumilla was clarified with egg whites, and naturally filtered through gravity before its bottling.

Nose

This blend of Monastrell and Syrah feels very Mediterranean. Aromas of ripe wild berries, over a thin layer of spices (vanilla, clove, cinnamon), herbs and toasted notes.

Palate

Easy and drinker-friendly, this wine of Crápula Wines has a creamy palate, some ripe tannins and some lively notes of fresh red fruit. Gentle and well crafted, with an aftertaste of ripe fruit and spices.

Our personal opinion

Uncomplicated and gulpable, Crápula Gold 5 Meses 2020 is an excellent table wine.

Fruit-driven, oak is not prominent. Drinks very well.
