Red Wine Cune Imperial Reserva 2016
Availability: In stock
The good old Cune Imperial Reserva is one of the classics of the DOCa Rioja and an homage to ancient winemaking traditions.
This excellent Spanish red wine is produced by the prestigious Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España-CVNE mainly from Tempranillo (85%), complemented with Graciano, Mazuelo and Grenache, all of them coming from the best plots of the winery.
Harvested at an optimal ripening state, once in the cellar the grapes were first cold-macerated for 24 hours and then underwent a meticulous vinification. This red wine from La Rioja was aged for 24 months in French and American oak barrels.
Gently clarified with egg whites, Cune Imperial Reserva 2016 peacefully slept for a further 24 months in the bottle before its release onto the market.
Decant 1 hour before drinking.
The wine Cune Imperial Gran Reserva has a clean, bright, medium garnet robe with ruby tinges and a brick red rim.
After letting the wine breathe, the nose of this Reserva from La Rioja Alta suggests some deep notes of menthol, balsam, tobacco and fine leather. Black and red fruit slowly appear, with delicately oaky touches and hints of liquorice, dry leaves and wet undergrowth.
Medium bodied, this reserva red wine from CVNE is suprisingly fresh and fruit-driven, with cranberries, blackberries, vanilla and some hints of liquorice and cocoa. Tannins are ripe and velvety, and acidity is vibrant and crisp. Long finish with notes of ripe red fruit. Supple and well-balanced.
