Product Description

Born in the very heart of the DOQ Priorat, near the Siurana river, this Spanish red wine nonetheless has an uncommon composition.

Instead of featuring Grenache and Carignan, the most widely planted grapes in the region, De Muller Les Pusses is crafted from an equal blend Merlot and Syrah.

Harvested by hand and meticulously selected, the grapes were fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks.

Then this Crianza red wine was transferred into Hungarian oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 12 months.

Finally, this Priorat red wine of the De Muller winery was aged for a further 6 months in the cellar.

We suggest that you decant De Muller Les Pusses 2015 1 hour before drinking.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine De Muller Les Pusses has a high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.

At first, this blend of Merlot and Syrah shows vivid notes of red and black fruit over a delicately floral background. Next, we find some toasted overtones and remembrances of garrigue, sweet spices, leather and tobacco leaves.

Bold and well-balanced, Les Pusses of the De Muller winery has a smooth texture and a savoury character. Liquor-infused fruit, some spicy notions, remembrances of violets, underbrush and cocoa. Lively tannins, good freshness and long, mineral finish.

Our personal opinion

Not your ordinary Priorat, De Muller Les  Pusses 2015 pairs excellently with game dishes and cured cheeses.

This is a curious Priorat made from international grapes. The character is still there, but not so local, so to speak. The wine delivers anyhow.

A very interesting red wine from El Priorato. Not as savagely mineral as other wines from the region. More on the elegant side.

An uncommon Priorat. Of course, you will get the minerality you're looking for. However, the blend will offer you some unexpected things. Definitely worth a buy.
