Cava DG Viticultors Brut Rosé 2013

Planted in 1991 near the town of Pontons, the vines are located at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level. They grow in poor, limestone soils peppered with stones and gravel. Climate is mild, which favours a slow, steady ripening of the grapes.
Produced by DG Viticultors, this Spanish sparkling wine was harvested in the second half of September. Once in the cellar, the grapes were destemmed and gently crushed. After that, only 50% of the wine must was fermented fermented in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 15ºC.
As the traditional Champenoise method prescribes, secondary fermentation of this Brut Rosé Cava took place inside the bottle. Then this Pinot Noir was aged for a minimum of 36 months.
Before its release, DG Viticultors Brut Rosé 2013 was added shipping liquor - and a very special one at that. Namely, the wine was rounded off with a small amount of Caligo, the exquisite, Chardonnay-based sweet white wine produced by the winery.

The Cava DG Viticultors Brut Rosé has an attractive rosy colour with some onion skin-coloured tinges.
Lively notes of red berries, strawberries and fine pastry. There is a background of liquor-infused and jammy fruit, with some floral and spicy remembrances. This rosé Pinot Noir Cava is enticing.
Soft, creamy and vinous, this Brut Rosé by DG Viticultors carries some fresh notes of red berries, with remembrances of pastry and some spicy overtones. Vibrant acidity and long, slightly bitter finish.

The Pinot Noir Cava DG Viticultors 2013 pairs well with shrimp, paté and smoked foods. A pleasant and versatile sparkler indeed.
