Details
The red wine Teixar from Celler Vinyes Domènech is one of the scarce varietal Hairy Grenache wines produced in Spain. Indigenous to Catalonia, this variety is a mutation of Grenache which grows a characteristic fuzz on the leaves.
Since 2012, this Spanish red wine from Montsant bears the seal "Vi de Finca Qualificada" (meaning "Certified Estate Wine"), Catalonia's highest quality distinction.
Farmed following organic and biodynamic practices, the grapes were sourced from over 70-year-old vines grown in a single 3-hectare vineyard with rocky soils.
First the grapes were meticulously harvested. Then the wine must was divided in 7 batches, each of which was fermented with indigenous yeasts.
After that, this red wine from Montsant was blended and aged for 14 months in French oak barrels.
Finally, Teixar 2019 was further aged for several months in the bottle prior to its commercial release.
Decant this organic and vegan red wine a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.

As the wine is exposed to air, aromas of damson and cranberries slowly gain prominence, combined with some toasted notes and a dash of blue flowers. |
| Palate | This wine from Vinyes Domènech carries flavours of cranberries and wild strawberries, with remembrances of menthol, flowers and pine needles. Texture is superb, with lively tannins and a crisp and acidity. Long finish, with some mineral and scrubland remembrances. |

compelling
Rather intriguing and evasive. There's fruit... but all of a sudden there isn't. You smell flowers... now you don't... Fascinating wine.

What smoothness!! What texture!! A sort of twilight Grenache. Understated, silky-textured, extremely subtle and ever-evolving. Nice remembrances of menthol, garrigue, black fruit, with a nice tip of vanilla and a delicately sweet note.
