Red Wine Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2015
Availability: In stock
We are proud to present the new vintage of Viña Arana Gran Reserva, a wine which completes the collection of Gran Reservas produced by Bodega La Rioja Alta, alongside the legendary Gran Reserva 890 and Gran Reserva 904.
This outstanding Spanish red wine from La Rioja is produced from Tempranillo and Graciano vines over 40 years old, which were meticulously harvested and selected on site and in the cellar.
After completing both fermentations in stainless steel tanks, the wine was transferred into 3rd and 4th year American oak barrels built in the winery's own cooperage, and aged for 3 years. During the process, Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2015 was racked every 6 months.
Finally, this red wine from La Rioja was bottled on December 2019, and kept in the cellar until June 2021.
This exquisite Gran Reserva red wine is produced only in exceptional vintages.
Around 80,000 bottles produced.
Aerate 1 hour before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Viña Arana Gran Reserva is medium cherry with a garnet rim. |
---|---|
Nose | This blend of Tempranillo and Graciano smells of cherries and damson, intertwined with notes of cinnamon, vanilla, toffee and moka. Hints of Havanna cigars and Moroccan leather impart an old-school charm to the nose, which also suggests some toasted and smokey notions. |
Palate | Intense and surprisingly fresh, with a remarkable balance, an excellent definition, and a somewhat understated character. Ssucculent black fruit, a balsamic and earthy note, and some spicy and floral nuances. Acidity is first-class, and the tannins of this Gran Reserva of Bodega La Rioja Alta are as smooth as silk. Long, spicy finish. |
Our personal opinion | Elegant, complex and age-worthy, Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2015 merges the traditional and the new Rioja, |
