Ébano Viñedos y Bodegas

Ébano Viñedos y Bodegas

The red wines from the Ébano winery present a flavorful and brilliant expression of the Spanish Tempranillo grapes.

The Èbano Viñedos y Bodegas winery of the Ribera del Duero D.O. of Spain was founded in 2004 and today they have 43 hectares of grapevines between 14 and 24 years-old in Gumiel de Marcado and Quintana del Pidio. Of these grapevines, 22 hectares are trellised and the remaining 21 hectares are planted in a Goblet system. On average, the grapevines planted in trellises have a yield of 4,000 kilograms per hectare and the grapevines planted in a Goblet system have yields of 2,500 kilograms per hectare. These vineyards take incredible care of their grapevines on a daily basis, such as “losanálisis foliales” (which is a chemical analysis of the grapevines), pruning, crop thinning, and regular soil analysis to target and identify the needs of individual grapevines. By these means the Èbano Viñedos y Bodegas winery is able to ensure the highest quality grapes are produced from these grapevines.

After the grapes have realized their peak ripeness they are harvested by hand and transported in the winery in small 37 pound (17 Kg) boxes to ensure that they arrive in their best condition. Upon arrival the grapes receive a meticulous selection process to ensure that only the highest quality grapes are used in their wines. This winery has the capacity to produce 217,000 liters of wine each year with their 11 stainless steel vats and chilling blankets that prevent high temperatures. With over 400 French oak barrels that are renewed every 3 years, the Èbano Viñedos y Bodegas winery is currently crafting some of the best wines from the Ribera del Duero D.O. of Spain.
