Details

The white wine Alvear Tres Miradas Cerro Macho from DO Montilla-Moriles is one of the bottlings of the 3 Miradas collection.

This dry Spanish white wine was produced by bodegas Alvear from Pedro Ximénez grapes sourced from the highest vineyard of Paraje de Benavente, situated in the Sierra de Montilla.

Situated at 610 metres of altitude, the west-oriented, bush-trained vineyards are owned by winegrowers Juan Antonio and José Espejo.

After the harvest, the grapes were pressed whole bunch and transferred into American oak barrels which had been previously infused with Fino. Then this white wine from Montilla-Moriles went through both fermentations spontaneously.

After finishing the malo, Alvear Tres Miradas Cerro Macho 2019 was aged under flor veil in the barrels for 18 months.

Pair with sushi, tempura vegetables, shrimp and fish rice recipes.

Nose

Elegant and suggestive, this Pedro Ximénez carries aromas of fine yeasts and flor veil, evolving into fennel, aniseed, green olives and green apples, underscored by subtle mineral notes.

Palate

This dry white wine from Albear is smooth, balanced and textured, with an excellent acidity and flavours of bone fruit, ripe apples and herbs. Long finish with remembrances of fine yeasts, citrus and spices.

Our personal opinion

Linear, lively and complex, Alvear Tres Miradas Cerro Macho 2019 is a seductive Andalusian white wine.
