Details
One of the main exponents of La Rioja's new "terroirist" path, Bodegas y Viñedos Artuke is the producer of Artuke Paso Las Mañas.
Belonging to the Vinos de Parcela collection, this single parcel Spanish red wine is made from young, organically grown Tempranillo vines planted between 1990 and 2003 in a small plot called Paraje El Chorro. Interestingly, the vines are a massal selection of old Tempranillo clones from Finca de los Locos, one the best vineyards of the winery.
Harvested by hand and selected on site, the grapes were traditionally vinified. The spontaneous malolactic fermentation of this organic red wine took place in 2nd year 500-litre French oak barrels, in which Artuke Paso Las Mañas 2021 was subsequently aged for 14 months.
We suggest that you aerate this Crianza red wine some time before you drink it.
Production around 7,000 bottles.

| Palate | Medium-bodied, cheerful and very savoury, with a smooth passage and a distinctive personality. Free-breathing and feral, with a crisp acidity and delicate tannins. Nicely balanced, this red wine of Bodegas Artuke has a long, fruit-driven finish, with some mineral and toasted notes. |
| Our personal opinion | Excellent without food or paired with cured meats, stews or rice dishes, Artuke Paso Las Mañas 2021 is a nice addition to the winery's exceedingly interesting catalogue. |

Superb. Spacious and free, but very precise, with focus and no makeup or tricks whatsoever.
Artuke is speedily becoming one of my favourite Rioja wineries - the other being DSG Vineyards. - Both of them truly are a breath of fresh air in a region badly in need of it.
