This is the only Spanish white wine produced by Bosque de Matasnos.

It is made from grapes coming from a single estate located at an altitude of 1,000 metres above sea level.

Produced in Castilla y LeónBlanco de Matasnos is made from a blend of Chardonnay, Viognier and Verdejo.

Harvested by hand, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks.

Then Blanco de Matasnos 2018 was aged for 6 months in 500-litre oak barrels.

This a very original and interesting white wine from Castilla y León.

Appearance

The wine Blanco de Matasnos has a bright yellow colour with some greenish glints.

Nose

This blend of Chardonnay, Viognier and Verdejo is certainly complex, and it is still in the process of assembling its parts. Notes of white fruit and yellow fruit, particularly pineapple, along some tropical nuances, white flowers and remembrances of aniseed and fennel.

Palate

Smooth and savoury, Bosque de Matasnos Blanco is moreish and delicately spicy, with focus and a bold structure. Remembrances of pears, peaches and pineapple, crisp acidity, and long, creamy finish.

Our personal opinion

Made from a most uncommon blend, Blanco de Matasnos 2018 is a substantial white wine. It deserves to be known and appreciated.

Value
I was curious to taste a white wine from Ribera del Duero, because it is some kind of a rarity. Well, this is simply sensational, and the unlikely blend is perfectly adjusted. Give it 2 o 3 years and it will reach its peak!!
