Product Description
Details

Produced by bodega De Muller, De Muller Aureo Seco Añejo,  is a confidential dry fortified wine from DO Tarragona, southern Catalonia, which stands comparison with many legendary fortified wines from Sherry country.

A blend of Grenache and White Grenache, this Spanish fortified wine aged in soleras is also known as Aureo 1954 Seco, a reference to the year in which the solera was started.

The grapes were fermented until there was no residual sugar left, after which this fortified wine from Tarragona was added wine alcohol and aged in old soleras for an extended period of time. That process of controlled oxidation is precisely what gives this wine its unique depth and complexity.

The dry wine De Muller Aureo Seco Añejo after blending the very best soleras.

Drink rancio style dry wine without food, or pair with white chocolate desserts.

Appearance

The fortified dry wine De Muller Aureo Seco Añejo is medium amber with some reddish glints.

Nose

This blend of Grenache and White Grenache brings aromas of nuts, sultanas, candied orange peel, aniseed and liquorice, evolving into ground coffee, fine wood, iodine and aromatic herbs. Impressive aromatic complexity.

Palate

Deep and layered, with a racy acidity and a phenomenal balance. This wine of bodega De Muller has flavours of roasted nuts, spices and menthol, with a note of lemon and nutmeg and an impressively long, meditative finish.

Our personal opinion

Enjoy the elegant De Muller Aureo Seco Añejo as an aperitif, or drink as an after-dinner sip.
