Details
The wine Edra Syrah-Merlot is part of the Edra Bodega y Viñedos project. Started in 1999 by the enologist Alejandro Ascaso, the wines bear the little-known designation VT Ribera del Gállegos- Cinco Villas.
The Syrah and Merlot grapes of this Spanish red wine come from grapevines located in Ayerbe, in the pre-Pyrenees region of Hoya de Huesca, Aragón. These grapevines are planted at over 550 meters above sea level, in clay and limestone soils which provide for excellent drainage.
The selected grapes of Edra Syrah-Merlot 2015 were first pre-macerated to enhace the full expression of the grapes. After completing malolactic fermentation, each variety was aged separately for 8 months in French and American oak barrels. During this ageing process, several pump-overs were performed to increase the creaminess and roundness of the wine.
Drink this red wine from Aragón through 2022.
