Details
This interesting Spanish red wine bears the name of a rural trail that traverses the Priorat region.
Produced by Casa Gran del Siurana, GR-174 is made from grapes coming from two estates located in Bellmunt del Priorat. The first one, La Casa Gran, is near the banks of the Siurana river, and it is mainly composed of red slate soils. The second one, La Fredat, is composed of black slate soils.
The composition includes 7 varieties: Grenache, Samsó (aka Carignan), Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Ull de Llebre (aka Tempranillo).
Harvested by hand, the grapes were destemmed, macerated and separately fermented. After that, the wine was drawn off and went through malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. Finally, GR-174 2022 was aged for 5 months in the barrels.
Aerate this Priorat red wine 20 minutes before drinking.

Priorat 174
Here you have the Priorat trademark and also a good drinkability. I've shared this wine with some fellow drinkers who at first were not very prone to drinking Priorat. It worked wonders, and now most of therm are fans of the region.
