Product Description
Details

The high-end Cava Juvé y Camps La Capella conveys like few others the great potential of the traditional Penedès grape varieties to bring forth world-class sparklers.

A single varietal Xarel·lo, this Cava de Paraje Calificado is produced from from a 7-hectare estate planted in 1972, in limestone soils, near the town of Espiells, in the highest area of Penedès.

Harvested by hand and meticulously selected, the grapes of this Brut Nature Gran Reserva produced by Juvé y Camps were carefully vinified with selected yeasts in order to express the specific character of the grape and the site.

Finally, Juvé y Camps La Capella 2010 was aged for 8 years in the bottle prior to its release.

Produced only in exceptional vintages, this Cava from Penedès will improve in the bottle for a minimum of 7 years.

Aerate the wine before drinking. Only 3,000 bottles produced.

Appearance

The Cava Juvé y Camps La Capella has a clean, bright, precious golden colour with some amber-golden tinges.

Nose

Complex and extremely delicate, showing notes of yellow fruit, fine pastry, butter, a dash of spices and aromatic herbs. As this single varietal Xarel·lo opens, there appear some elegant toasted notes and some mineral and earthy undertones.

Palate

Despite being over eight years old, this Gran Reserva by Juvé y Camps is still a baby and shows tremendous potential for growth. Flavours of yellow fruit, pastry and butter, some hints of dry earth, a dash of bouquet garni, notions of dry fruit and even white flowers. Bubbles are almost imperceptible, acidity is magnificent and finish is extremely long.

Our personal opinion

The competition to produce the best Cava is getting tougher. Pure, crisp and complex, Juvé y Camps La Capella 2010 is a serious contender to the title.

Not La Chapelle from L'Hermitage, but close enough. I am really impressed by the quality leap in the top Cavas. This delivers purity, focus and freshness all along.
