Product Description
Details

The red wine Lan Crianza faithfully embodies the traditions of La Rioja Alta and La Rioja Alavesa.

Made essentially from Tempranillo, the 2020 vintage of this Spanish red wine is complemented with a 5% Grenache and a 2% Mazuela (aka Carignan).

The grapes are sourced from 10 to 20-year-old vineyards with clay-limestone soils located in the very heart of DOCa Rioja.

Hand-harvested, destemmed and crushed, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature. After that, this red wine from La Rioja was macerated for 15 days with frequent pump-overs to extract colour and tannin.

Then the red wine Lan Crianza 2020 was aged for 14 months in hybrid -French and American- oak barrels.

Finally, this Crianza red wine was further aged for 9 months in the bottle before hitting the market.

Nose

This blend of Tempranillo, Grenache and Mazuela suggests red berries and sour cherries, with hints of liquorice, vanilla and Eastern spices.

Palate

Flavourful and fruit-driven, with ripe red berries, a toasted and spicy undercurrent and a lively mid palate. This Crianza of Bodegas Lan has a long finish with a balsamic aftertaste.

Our personal opinion

A phenomenal value, the red wine Lan Crianza 2020 is a nice all-rounder.
