The iconic red wine Marqués de Riscal Gran Reserva is produced by the Marqués de Riscal winery from estate-grown grapes and from grapes bought to local La Rioja winegrowers.
One of the most prestigious Spanish red wines from La Rioja, the 2018 vintage is basically made from Tempranillo, sourced from vineyards over 80 years of age, with a smidgen of other red varieties.
Hand-picked and exactingly selected, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks. After that, the best barrel samples of this Rioja red wine were blended and aged in French oak barrels for 28 months.
Finally, the red wine Marqués de Riscal Gran Reserva 2018 was kept for 3 years in the cellar prior to its commercial release.
This varietal Gran Reserva red wine embodies like few others the very essence of La Rioja, one of the world's great wine regions.
