Product Description
Details

Raventós i Blanc Manuel Raventós 2007 is the top sparkling wine produced by the increasingly prestigious and respected Raventós i Blanc winery.

The wine is produced only in exceptional vintages from a selection of the best wines.

In 2007, the winemakers decided to craft a blend of two grapes. The bulk of the wine was composed of the age-worthy, high-acidic Xarel·lo (80%), and was complemented by a tiny part of delicate, fragrant Parellada (20%).

Both grapes came from 60-year-old vines planted in the Clos del Serral estate, located near the basin of the Anoia river, in the Penedès region.

Harvested at an optimal ripening state, the grape bunches were cooled with carbonic snow to prevent oxidation and gently pressed.

After that, the wine musts were separately fermented in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine was blended and bottled.

Finally, Manuel Raventós 2007, a sparkling wine belonging to the Conca del Riu Anoia DO, underwent secondary fermentation inside the bottle and was aged for more than 5 years in the cellar prior to its commercial release.

Appearance

Very bright, clean, golden colour with some steely and amber glints.

Nose

Manuel Raventós 2007 by Raventós i Blanc is remarkably rich. Aromas of sugar-coated fruit, fine pastry, custard sauce, spices, a hint of cedar, a dash of caramel and some notions of honey and white flowers.

Palate

Smooth and velvety bodied, with extremely delicate, tiny bubbles perfectly integrated with the wine. Seductive flavours of baked apples, laurel, white flowers, lemon cream and crème brûlée. Fresh, persistent finish.

Our personal opinion

Raventós i Blanc Manuel Raventós 2007 will surely delight the many enthusiasts of the aged, complex Catalan Cavas.
