White Wine Do Ferreiro 2021
Availability: In stock
In the town of Meaño, that is, at the very heart of Albariño land, belonging to the DO Rías Baixas, the respected winemaker Gerardo Méndez produces this Spanish white wine.
A varietal Albariño, Do Ferreiro is made from vines 10 to 50 years of age.
The vineyards of this white wine from Rías Baixas are planted in soils composed of granite and sand. They have good drainage, a key feature in an area which receives abundant rainfall.
Harvested by hand, the grape bunches were destemmed, cold-macerated for 24 hours and fermented for 24 days in stainless steel tanks. After that, Do Ferreiro 2020 from Bodegas Gerardo Méndez was aged on its lees for 7 months.
Pair this white wine from Galicia with rice dishes and creamy cheese.
Appearance | The white wine Do Ferreiro has a very bright, clean, pale yellow colour with some golden and greenish glints. |

Nose | This varietal Albariño exhibits some complex aromas of wet earth, citrus, tropical fruit, white flowers, some vegetal remembrances, and hints of aromatic herbs and minerality. |
Palate | Fresh and smooth, this wine from bodega Gerardo Méndez has a dry, refreshing character and a great balance. Aniseed, white flowers, aromatic herbs, citrus and some mineral nuances. Long, crisp finish. |
Our personal opinion | Mildly complex and pleasantly straightforward, Do Ferreiro 2020 from Valle del Salnés is an excellent companion of shrimp, rice dishes and baked fish. |
