Crianza red wine from Ribera del Duero. Varietal Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) aged for 16 months in French oak barrels.

For several reasons, Dominio de Atauta is a truly singular Spanish red wine.
First, this Crianza red wine is made from high-altitude Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) vines perched at altitudes between 980 and 1,050 metres.
Second, all of the vines, scattered over more many little plots, are over 60 years old. Some of them, over 140 years of age, are prephylloxeric.
Harvested at dusk, the grapes were cooled in the cellar, destemmed and macerated at a low temperature.
After completing alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks and oak vats, Dominio de Atauta 2018 from the Dominio de Atauta winery was transferred into French oak barrels (20% new), where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for over a period of 16 months.
We suggest that you decant red wine from Ribera del Duero from Ribera del Duero at least 30 minutes before drinking.
The wine Dominio de Atauta is medium purple with a garnet rim.
This old-vines Tinto Fino is complex and intense. Deep notes of black fruit, Jamaican pepper, vanilla, and toast, alongside aromas of tobacco, black chocolate, balsam and cranberry liqueur over a seductive, earthy-mineral background. Real finesse.
This wine from Dominio de Atauta has an excellent acidity, an intricate texture and a very long finish with remembrances of spices, wet earth, raw cocoa and some mineral undertones.
