Details

A varietal Tinta de Toro, the red wine Dominio del Bendito Las Sabias is produced from ungrafted vines 45 to 80 years of age. Certified organic, they are planted in sandy soils in Pago de la Jara, a Cru vineyard located near the village of Toro, the wine capital of DO Toro.

Meticulously harvested, the grapes were selected on site and on arriving at the facilities of bodega Dominio del Bendito, the personal project of French winemaker Antony Terryn.

Alcoholic fermentation was carried out in epoxy-lined concrete diposits in an extremely gentle manner. Given that the Tinta de Toro variety has a high natural concentration of phenolic compounds, the aim was not to extract too much tannin and colour from the grapes.

After that, this Spanish red wine was transferred into French oak barrels, where it was aged for 16 months. Finally, the wine Dominio del Bendito Las Sabias 2021 was bottled unfined.

We suggest that you decant this Crianza red wine at least 1 hour before drinking.

Pair this red wine from Toro with hearty meat recipes.

I've been drinking this wine since 2017 and it never disappoints.
A 16,5% power wine with great balance. A 9,5 out of 10 points!

The real 2019 review...
Value
This is for the true 2019 year...!
I'm very pleased it's very like the 2017 year, but even 0,5% stronger..., so big and bold with 16,5% alcohol.
For me, I'm in 'love' with it, wine with power, but also well in balance with its tannins and a great taste. I didn't decante it this time and it's getting away with it. When you want it to be a little more gentle, decante it for an hour or so.
For quality against is price, this is now my number 1 wine, absolutlely top!!!

A strong Toro beauty! (follow up)

I have to correct my review a bit, sorry!
In stock I'm having the years 2017 and 2018.
The 2017 is 16% strong and a bit tannin rich. For that year I advise decanting 1 to 2 hours before consumption.
The 2018 is a little stronger with 16,5%. It is fruitier and slightly sweet, not tannin rich, so decanting between 30 minutes to an hour is enough.
Both years are very tasty though and I can recommend them very much!
I'll be back again after I have the 2019 in stock and consumed.

This is a wine that's very strong, 16,5%, but also very tasty, so I recommend very much. But do decant it at least 2 hours before consumption, you will be rewarded!

Big-boned, but not vulgar. True Toro character, with terroir and depth. Nice job!
