Product Description

Made from vines over 30 years of age, Domus Pensi is a Spanish red wine produced in the southern Catalan region of Terra Alta.

Produced by the Altavins winery, this reserve red wine is made from a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 10% Merlot.

The vineyards are located in a demanding environment, with poor soils and a harsh climate of severly hot summers and cold winters.

Harvested manually, the grapes were macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 26 days. After that, Domus Pensi 2015 was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Finally, was further aged for 24 months in the bottle.

Production of 5,000 bottles. Decant this red wine from Terra Alta 1 hour before drinking.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The wine Domus Pensi has an intense, bright red colour with some violet tinges.

This red wine by the Altavins winery is complex and quite deep. Ripe black fruit, jammy red fruit -notably amarena cherries- nuanced by notes of spices and menthol. On the background of this red wine from Terra Alta there is a layer of smoke, dry earth and underbrush.

Well-balanced, lively, with a remarkable potential for growth. Domus Pensi from Terra Alta carries plenty of liquor-infused fruit, licorice, clove, cocoa, tobacco and aromatic herbs. Crisp, refreshing acidity, ripe tannins and long finish with some toasted and fruity remembrances.
