Product Description

Produced by Vall Llach, one of the most prestigious names in the DOQ Priorat, Embruix de Vall Llach is the entry-level Spanish red wine of the winery.

This red wine is made from a blend of 27% Grenache, 26% Merlot, 21% Syrah, 18% Carignan and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The grapes come from young vines planted on mild and steep slopes, composed of the slate soils typical of Priorat.

Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, with gentle pump-overs and punch-downs.

After that, this red wine from Priorat also completed malolactic fermentation in the tanks.

Finally, Embruix de Vall Llach 2017 was aged for 12 months in 3rd and 4th year French oak barrels of different sizes. It was bottled in April, May and June 2019.

Decant 1 hour before drinking.

65,300 bottles produced.

Additional Information

The red wine Embruix de Vall Llach has a deep cherry colour with a violet rim.

Deep and intense, Vall-Llach from Lluís Llach carries some juicy aromas of raspberries and blackberries, with hints of liquorice, graphite, spices and aromatic herbs over a dark mineral background.

Palate This red wine from Porrera has an enticing minerality and a complexity that is still unfolding. Good grip, smooth tannins and a superb acidity. Black fruit, mineral, garrigue, spices and cocoa. This wine from Celler Vall-Llach has a long finish reminiscent of balsam, toast and liquorice.

They have begun to reduce the oak impact, and that has been good for the wine. Now it feels more expansive and less suffocated, with plenty of room for expressing its delightfully mineral side.

in a nutshell
Wanna know Priorat? Solve the equation. Power + slate soil remembrances + an intense nose + long finish = Embruix.
