Red Wine Emilio Moro Finca Resalso 2018

The 2018 vintage was quite irregular. Lots of rain in spring, and high temperatures in September and October. Anyway, the young vines (around 10 years of age) produced fruit of an excellent quality.
The grapes of this Spanish red wine were harvested at dawn to avoid undesired pre-fermentation. Once in the cellar the grapes were destemmed, crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
Once completed, the subsequent malolactic fermentation of Emilio Moro Finca Resalso 2018 from Ribera del Duero, as well as a 4 month ageing period, took place in French oak barrels.

The red wine Emilio Moro Finca Resalso has a bright cherry colour with violet tinges and a ruby hue at the rim.
Clean and straightforward, this Tinta Fina or Tempranillo is defined by aromas of ripe blackberries and cranberries, hints of liquorice and some lactic, strawberry yougurt notes. The 4-month ageing period shows in slight touches of cocoa and vanilla.
This delightful red wine by Emilio Moro shows the best qualities youth has to offer: energy and intensity. Loads of red fruit, notes of spices, ripe tannins and a good acidity. Long, warm finish. A well-balanced wine.

Expressive and very gently aged, Emilio Moro Finca Resalso 2018 pairs very well with tapas and light dishes.
