Red Wine Enate Syrah-Shiraz 2016
Availability: In stock
A single varietal Spanish red wine belonging to the "Varietals Collection," Enate Syrah-Shiraz is produced by the Enate winery.
This single varietal Syrah is made from grapes coming from two estates located in the very heart of the DO Smontano.
Interestingly, each estate is planted with a different clone of Syrah, one coming from France, and the other from Australia.
The grapes were harvested by hand at their optimal ripening level. As for the 2012 vintage, it was the latest on record in the history of Somontano.
Once in the cellar, they were destemmed and gently crushed. Then, this red wine from Somontano was fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Then this Crianza red wine was aged for 16 months in new French and American oak barrels, where it also completed malolactic fermentation.
The label picture of Enate Syrah-Shiraz 2016 features a painting by the late andalusian artist Manuel Rivera.
Decant 40 minutes before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Enate Syrah-Shiraz has a very bright, clean, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim. |

Nose | This varietal Syrah of the Enate winery is fragrant, deep and complex. Varietal aromas of red berries, fresh violets, black olives and cocoa, intertwined with dim notes of vegetables, dry earth, smoke, spices and balsam. |
Palate | Bold and meaty, this Crianza red wine is nevertheless remarkably fresh due to its well-balanced acidity. Velvety-bodied, with remembrances of ripe blackberries, raspberries and blackcurrants, combined with notes of tapenade, chocolate, menthol and toast. Enate Syrah-Shiraz has a long, complex finish. |
Our personal opinion | A terroir-driven wine, Enate Syrah-Shiraz 2016 will enliven roasts, casseroles and all kinds of hearty meals. |
