Red Wine Enrique Mendoza Petit Verdot 2018
Availability: In stock
Produced by Enrique Mendoza, one of the most respected winemakers in Mediterranean Spain, Enrique Mendoza Petit Verdot belongs to the DO Alicante.
This unconventional Spanish red wine is an interesting varietal Petit Verdot.
After the harvest, this Crianza red wine completed both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in stainless steel tanks.
Then this red wine from Alicante was aged for 10 months in American oak barrels from Oregón and for 6 months in 2nd year French oak barrels from Allier.
Finally, Enrique Mendoza Petit Verdot 2018 was bottled unfined. Consequently, we suggest that you decant it 30 minutes before you drink it.
Appearance | The red wine Enrique Mendoza Petit Verdot has an intense cherry colour with some deep-reddish maroon colored edges. |

Nose | This single varietal Petit Verdot from Alicante smells of red berries, intertwined with an intense minerality, much of which appears earthy, reminiscent of humid soil and stone. After the wine opens the fruit explodes and there are spicy notes, with some balsamic and sweet aromas. |
Palate | Characteristic and flavorful, this red wine by Bodegas Enrique Mendoza flows effortlessly through the palate, with a texture which is both meaty and silky. Fruit and spice take the center stage, while maintaining a remarkably mineral background. Very well-balanced, with very good acidity and mature tannins. The finish, full of Med garrigue, is very persistent. |
Our personal opinion | Surprising, different, and very tasty. Enrique Mendoza Petit Verdot 2018 is a wine that will delight and intrigue your guests. |
