Product Description
Details

The prestigious Gil Family crafts the wine Entresuelos from differently-aged grapevines, some of which are up to 100 years of age. The plants are scattered across 30 plots composed of sandy soils, located in the northern Spanish province of Zamora.

This Spanish red wine is a single varietal Tempranillo coming from vines grown in sandy soils.

Produced by the Bodegas Tritón winery, one of the brands of the Gil Family Estates, the grapes were harvested by hand and meticulously vinified.

Fermented in stainless steel tanks, Entresuelos 2016 from Castilla y León was then aged in French oak barrels for a minimum of 6 months.

Appearance

The wine Entresuelos has a clean, intense cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

Nose

This varietal Tempranillo is lively and straightforward. Fresh wild berries, toast, a dash of spices, liquorice and some mineral remembrances.

Palate

This red wine from Castilla y León is fresh and intense, with savoury notes of black fruit, subtle ageing nuances, a lactic touch and some mineral undertones. Chewy tannins, remarkable acidity and long finish with some remembrances of red berries.

Our personal opinion

Produced by Gil Family, Entresuelos 2016 is an excellent value of Bodegas Tridente.

I'm a big fan of Juan Gil's wines. The consistently deliver a remarkable quality at a very affordable price. This Tempranillo is the perfect example. Perfectly balanced, with intense flavours and a long finish.
