The 2017 vintage of Espelt ViDiví is, for the first time, made from certified organic vines. They are grown the DO Empordà, a northern Catalan region constantly swept by a merciless northern wind - also an exceptional natural sanitizing agent - called Tramuntana.
Produced by Celler Espelt, the grapes were harvested by hand, fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks. After that, Espelt Vidiví 2017 was aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
Drink this red wine from L'Empordà until 2023.
The wine Espelt Vidiví has a very bright, clean, medium-high crimson-coloured robe with a garnet rim and some violet glints.
Ripe aromas of plums, cranberries, figs and blackberries nuanced by touches of pepper and clove. On the background, this Crianza red wine from L'Empordà suggests subtle notions of liquorice, wet earth, leather and sandalwood.
Straightforward and honest, with a smooth texture, a substantial body and a tense acidity. Notes of liquor-infused fruit, toast, smoke and spices. This red wine by Celler Espelt has a long, complex finish.
