Red Wine Etern 2015
Priorat red wine, blend of old-vines Grenache and Carignan aged for 12 months in French oak barrels from Allier.
Availability: In stock
The oenologist Albert Jané crafted this Spanish red wine from grapevines with a very strong, almost eternal spirit. The name of this wine, “Etern,” can be directly translated from Catalan to the English word “eternal.”
Planted in starkly mineral, slate soils, the vineyards have ridiculously low yields, but they produce fruit of the utmost quality. After an exacting selection process, this terroir-orientated Priorat red wine was traditionally vinified and subsequently aged for 12 months in new, lightly toasted French oak barrels from Allier.
Only 1,660 bottles were produced of this old-vines Carignan and Grenache.
Decant the wine a minimum of 2 hours before drinking.
Drink Etern 2015 until 2025+.
Etern has a bright, clean cherry coloured body with some maroon edges.
This red wine from Priorat by Acústic Celler must be decanted for it to display its full aromatic potential. Complex and concentrated aromas of ripe black fruits, cherry liqueur, and balsamic notes that are intertwined with pleasant earthy aromas, leather, smoke, and a hint of slate. There are delicate aniseed and floral nuances that are presented along a spiced background.
This blend of old-vines Grenache and Carignan has a powerful entrance onto the palate that is very pleasant and followed by a big, complex, and voluminous passage. This wine has fine acidity along with ripe and silky tannins. Wild black fruits, Mediterranean garrigue, chocolate, toffee, flowers and mineral, all combined with some smokey and balsamic notes. There is a long, memorably mineral aftertaste that delights the palate and enlivens the spirit.
|Our personal opinion||
Etern 2015 is a top-notch Priorat that has earned a place in the sun.
