Product Description

Produced by Marqués de RiscalFinca Torrea is a blend of Tempranillo and Graciano, coming from the vineyard which gives the wine its name, Finca de Torrea. The plot has clayey-limestone soils and it is planted with old grapevines.

The grapes were hand-harvested and meticulously selected. Once in the cellar, they were destemmed, selected again and gently pressed. This Spanish red wine from La Rioja was then fermented in Allier oak vats at a controlled temperature, with periodic, gently performed pump-overs aimed at extracting aromatic compounds. Malolactic fermentation of this Rioja red wine took place in French oak barrels, followed by a 18-month ageing period. Finally, Finca Torrea 2016 was aged for a further months in the bottle before its commercial release.

It is worth noting that this Crianza red wine somewhat departs from the classic Rioja profile which defines the Marqués de Murrieta portfolio.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine Finca Torrea has a nice cherry colour with a garnet rim.

This is an intense blend of Tempranillo and Graciano. Lively aromas of spices and balsam, alongside hints of blackberries and damson. Gentle mineral notes, with a creamy and herbal touch.

Spirited and very much alive, this Crianza red wine from Rioja is fruit-driven and very smooth. Balance is the defining element, which makes for a great drinkability. This wine of Marqués de Riscal has some smooth tannins and a crisp acidity, with a long finish with an aftertaste of black fruit and toast.

Our personal opinion

A wine which manages to be complex and moreish at the same, Finca Torrea 2016 will pair excellently with meat recipes.
