Red Wine Finca Villacreces 2017
Availability: In stock
This is the new vintage of the Spanish red wine that bears the name of the prestigious Finca Villacreces winery. The company is located in the "Golden Mile" of the Ribera del Duero region, not far from names as legendary as Dominio de Pingus and Vega Sicilia.
Made from Tempranillo (86%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Merlot (4%), coming from low-yielding, organically farmed vineyards located over 700 metres of altitude, Finca Villacreces has a degree of finesse very much of its own.
Selected twice, the first time on site and the second time in the cellar, alcoholic fermentation and maceration of this red wine from Ribera del Duero took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation was carried out in new French oak barrels, where the wine was then aged for over a period of 14 months.
Prior to bottling, Finca Villacreces 2017 was clarified with egg whites and gently filtered. Before its commercial release, the wine was aged for a further 6 months in the cellar.
In order to appreciate its complexity, we strongly suggest that you decant this Crianza red wine 1 hour before you drink it.
The red wine Finca Villacreces is bright cherry with a reddish rim.
Classic and elegant aromas of toast and spices that, as this blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot opens, evolve into hypnotic notions of black fruit (notably blueberries and plums), Tahitian vanilla, Ghana cocoa, Havana cigars, fresh liquorice, balsam, underbrush and wet leaves.
Crafted with precision, this wine from bodega Finca Villacreces has an smooth, vibrant texture, some yummy tannins and a steely acidity. Long finish with some smoky remembrances and a note of graphite and wet stone.
