Details

The best-known kosher red wine of bodega Celler de Capçanes - which began producing kosher wines in DO Montsant back in 1985 - the wine Flor de Primavera Peraj Ha'Abib enjoys an excellent reputation among discerning wine aficionados all around the world.

This red wine from Montsant is produced under the strict supervision of the Rabbinate Chabad Lubavitch Barcelona.

This blended Spanish red wine is made from Grenache, coming from three vineyards 50 to 70 years of age, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan. The vines have extremely low yields, and all of them are planted in terraces with clay-granitic soils at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level.

Meticulously harvested, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation was completed in new and used kosher French oak barrels. Then this kosher-for-Passover red wine was aged for 12 months in those barrels.

Finally, the wine Flor de Primavera Peraj Ha´Abib 2022 was gently filtered and further kept for some months in tanks prior to bottling.

Decant this vegan wine a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.

Appearance

The red wine Flor de Primavera Peraj Ha'Abib is medium violet with a ruby rim.

Nose

Earthy, deep and remarkably complex. At first, this blend of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan shows pure aromas of redcurrants, raspberries and blueberries, which slowly evolve into delicate suggestions of flowers, lavender and Mediterranean garrigue. There is a background of freshly ground coffee, cocoa, liquorice, spices, alongside some deep mineral undertones.

Palate

Juicy and energetic, this wine of Celler de Capçanes has a lush texture, layered and nuanced, with plenty of cherries, blackberries and blackcurrants, sustained by a crisp acidity and an enticing mineral skeleton. Remembrances of aromatic herbs and spices, with round tannins and a first-class acidity, all the way to a long finish.

Our personal opinion

Powerful, elegant and highly idiosyncratic, the wine Flor de Primavera Peraj Ha'Abib 2022 will pair marvelously with hearty dishes. L'Chaim!

This is excellent. It needs a good 4-5 years to peak. Please, we want more Kosher wines on your website.

A superb wine, with great concentration, authority and definition. Oak dresses the wine, but not suffocates it. There is a real sense of terroir here. Mazel tov!
