Product Description

The entry-level Spanish red wine of Bodega VetusFlor de Vetus is made from estate-owned vines about 25 years of age, planted in sandy-limestone soils at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level, at the heart of the DO Toro.

A single varietal Tinta de Toro, once in the cellar the grapes were destemmed, gently crushed and cold-macerated. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks.

Finally, Flor de Vetus 2017 was aged in 1st and 2nd year, 50/50 American and French oak barrels for over a period of 9 months.

Since this red wine from Toro may present some sediment, because it was neither clarified nor stabilized, we suggest that you aerate it 30 minutes before drinking.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine Flor de Vetus has a medium, cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.

Prominent notes of black and red fruit, liquored cherries and strawberry candy. Quite complex, this red wine by Bodega Vetus also suggests aromas of balsam, vegetables, aromatic herbs and dim wooden notes.

This varietal Tinta de Toro is gentle and fruity. Notes of black plums, blackberries, menthol and some lactic touches. Slightly dry tannins, tense acidity and long, fruity finish.

Our personal opinion

The excellently priced Flor de Vetus 2017 is a modern Toro. Powerful, but also fresh and easy to drink.
