The grapes come from two plots located in the basin of the Duero river, at altitudes between 850 and 930 metres above sea level.
Composition of the soils varies greatly, including limestone, clay, sand and pebble stones.
The grapes were selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar. After being destemmed, they were cold-soaked, fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and, once finished, subsequently macerated for 3 days.
Then this red wine from Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Félix Callejo underwent spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
Finally, Flores de Callejo 2019 was aged for a brief period of 6 months in French oak barrels.
The red wine Flores de Callejo has an intense, bright, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a violet rim.
This varietal Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero is fruit-driven. Intense aromas of strawberries, raspberries, cherries and redcurrants, along with nuances of flowers, vanilla, pepper and toast.
Lively and fresh, this red wine from Bodega Félix Callejo has a nice texture in which the fruit and the wooden notes are well balanced. Remembrances of red berries, violets, liquorice and dry earth. Good acidity and mild tannins. Slightly dry, long, balsamic finish.
|Our personal opinion||
A nice value from Ribera del Duero, Flores de Callejo 2019 pairs wonderfully with BBQ dishes and seared vegetables.
