Product Description

This excellent Spanish red wine is made from old vines over 70 years of age by Bodegas Avelino Vegas.

A single varietal TempranilloFuentespina Reserva is produced in Ribera del Duero. After an accurate harvest, the grapes were destemmed, delicately crushed and cold-macerated for 3 days in stainless steel tanks.

Then this reserva red wine was fermented with selected yeasts and macerated with the skins for another 10 days.

Malolactic of this red wine from Ribera del Duero fermentation took place in French and American oak barrels, and was followed by a 14 month ageing period.

Finally, Fuentespina Reserva 2015 was bottled and aged for a further 2 years in the cellar before its release.

Aerate 30 minutes before drinking.

Additional Information
Additional Information

The red wine Fuentespina Reserva has an intense, high cherry-coloured robe with a garnet rim.

Tight at the beginning, after some aeration this old-vines Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero shows creamy notes of cedar, cinnamon, clove, toast, cocoa and licorice, underpinned by aromas of black fruit, wet earth and withered vegetables.

Meaty and smooth, this reserva of Bodega Avelino Vegas has a substantial volume and a solid structure. Fruit compote, sweet spices, tobacco, chocolate and aromatic herbs. Well-balanced, refreshing acidity, yummy tannins and long, delicate finish.

I like this Ribera. Old-style wine, powerful and fresh.

Old school
A very "masculine" wine, so to speak. And sort of old-fashioned. But that's the way I like my wine. Deep, strong and concentrated.
