Produced by the Gómez Cruzado name, a household name from La Rioja based in the legendary Barrio de la Estación of Haro, the red wine Gómez Cruzado El Predilecto recovers the winemaking style which was traditional in La Rioja before oak ageing became widespread.
Separately vinified, each grape variety was fully destemmed and fermented uncrushed with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, followed by a short maceration.
After that, this red wine from La Rioja was blended and transferred into concrete diposits. Before being bottled in May 2022, the red wine Gómez Cruzado El Predilecto 2021 was aged for about 5 months in the diposits. It saw no wood whatsoever.
37,000 bottles produced.
The red wine Gómez Cruzado El Predilecto is medium ruby with some reddish glints.
This blend of Grenache and Tempranillo is ripe and fruit-forward, with ripe cherries and raspberries, some hints of red pepper and marshmallows and a balsamic and floral suggestion.
Fleshy red fruit, with a tapering acidity, gentle tannins and good freshness. Pure and pleasurable, this wine of the Gómez Cruzado winery ends with a floral and berryish note.
