Cava Gramona Argent 2013
Availability: In stock
The exquisite Cava Gramona Argent is a single varietal Spanish sparkling wine made from 25-year-old vines planted in Mas Escorpí, a plot with calcareous and rocky soils located on the foothills of the Montserrat mountains, one of the coolest areas in the Penedès region.
Once in the cellar, the grapes were gently crushed, after which the resulting wine must was fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
Then Gramona Argent 2013 completed secondary fermentation in the bottle, and was aged for a minimum of 48 months before its release.
Finally, this Chardonnay Cava was added shipping liquor coming from an old family "solera."
Clean and bright, Gramona Argent has a golden colour with some steely tinges and greenish glints.
Full of elegance and finesse, this Chardonnay sparkling wine from Penedès suggests some aromas of citrus, butter, marzipan and white flowers, with hints of sugar coated fruit, dry fruit, and English custard.
Velvety-bodied, this Cava from Gramona has a enticing passage through the palate, with diminutive bubbles and a crisp, refreshing acidity. Notes of pomelo, orange rind, dry fruit, cream and nougat. Long, delicately bitter finish. Really good.
