Details

Formerly known as Guerinda Crianza, Guerinda El Máximo is a Spanish red wine that pays homage to the founder of the Máximo Abete winery.

This red wine from Navarra is produced from vines located in the Guerinda mountains, at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level.

A blend of Grenache, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the grapes were manually harvested, separately vinified, and aged for 14 months in French oak barrels.

After that, Guerinda El Máximo 2016 was blended and aged for 10 months in the cellar prior to its commercial release.

Drink this red wine from Navarra until 2023.

Appearance

The Spanish red wine Guerinda El Máximo has a very bright, clean, medium-high, ruby-coloured robe with a crimson rim.

Nose

An honest red wine from Navarra by Máximo Abete, suggesting notes of undergrowth, thyme, rosemary, fennel, black fruit and balsam over a mineral background with some notions of liquor-infused black fruit.

Palate

Complex and smooth, this blend of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot has a lively acidity and ripe tannins. Long and persistent, leaving remembrances of blackberries, vanilla, toast and wet earth.

Our personal opinion

Fresh, complex and well-structured, Guerinda El Máximo 2015 evokes the landscape of the Navarra mountains.

Interesting red wine for a nice price. Good balance, the oak is not excessive and the fruit feels nice and clean.
