Red Wine Hécula 2017
Availability: In stock
After more than 20 vintages, Hécula Monastrell has earned the right to be called "one of Spain's absolute best values."
It is made from 40-year-old vines planted at an altitude of 750 metres aboves sea level. Soils are composed of rocks, sand and lime.
Traditionally vinified, Hécula 2017 was fermented in stainless steel tanks for 10 days.
After that, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 6 months in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels.
The red wine Hécula has a clean, very bright, medium-high cherry-coloured robe with a ruby rim.
This red wine by Bodegas Castaño is lively and expressive, with some spicy aromas of ripe blackberries, typical of Monastrell, a note of violets, and hints of liquorice, undergrowth, balsam and leather.
Well-crafted and gentle, this Monastrell from Yecla has a good acidity and crunchy tannins. Ripe black fruit, violets, jammy raspberries, spices and underbush. Long, balsamic finish.
|Our personal opinion||
Expressive and absolutely drinkable, Hécula 2017 is a superb value from Yecla.
