From the heart of the Basque Country, Itsasmendi is a Spanish white wine produced by Bodegas Itsasmendi.
A traditional, light Txakolí wine, this product is crafted from the indigenous varieties Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zuri Zerrate.
The 2019 vintage was an irregular one. Though the harvesting season began excellently, it soon got complicated because of the rain, low temperatures and lack of sunlight. Fortunately, the grapes finally achieved a nice ripeness and optimal acidity levels.
Belonging to the DO Bizkaiko Txakolina, the grapes were harvested by hand, cold-soaked and fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Following the tradition, this white wine from the Basque Country was not aged in oak in order to preserve its freshness and finesse.
Utterly atlantic and extremely versatile, Itsasmendi 2019 should be drunk over the current year.
