Details

The Viñas del Jaro winery presents the new vintage of Jaros, its best-known Spanish red wine, in a Magnum bottle.

This wine from Ribera del Duero is made from a blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot coming from a single estate.

Traditionally vinified, the grapes were first separately fermented in stainless steel tanks.

Then this Crianza red wine produced by the Compañía de Viñedos Iberian, was aged in new and 2nd year French oak barrels for 16 months.

After that, Jaros 2015 Magnum was aged for a further months in the bottle before its release.

Decant 30 minutes before drinking.

Drink through 2025.

Appearance

The red wine Jaros Magnum has an intense cherry colour with a violet rim.

Nose

This wine by Viñas del Jaro opens with some aromas of black fruit, intertwined with some spicy and herbal notions, and some deep toasted and mineral remembrances. An expressive Ribera del Duero wine indeed.

Palate

Elegant and savoury, this Magnum bottle is reminiscent of ripe fruit, with some intense toasted and spicy notions, and remembrances of liquorice, dry earth and charcoal. Excellent acidity, ripe tannins a long, complex finish.

Our personal opinion

An excellent value from Ribera del Duero, Jaros 2015 Magnum is a wise buy. Excellent with stews and roasted meats.
