Jaume de Codorníu Gran Reserva 2011
The first comes from a single estate composed of very poor soils. The second is planted in slate soils on the Prades mountains, the coolest area of the Cava Designation.
After the harvest, the grapes were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks for about 15 days.
Then the two wines of Jaume de Codorníu Gran Reserva 2011 were blended, bottled and the wine completed secondary fermentation.
Finally, the wine was aged on its lees for more than 40 months.
All of the bottles of this limited edition Cava are numbered.
Drink until 2019.
Very bright, clean yellow colour with some subtle rosy tinges.
This Grand Reserve sparkling wine shows aromas of bone fruit, red berries and some remembrances of tropical fruit. On the background, hints of pastry, bread, dry fruit and some mineral nuances.
Smooth and silky, with a lively, crisp acidity that makes it very fresh. Notes of cream, butter, aromatic herbs, raw almonds and flowers. Tiny bubbles and long, mineral finish.
